A development of affordable, accessible bungalows constructed for over 55’s has been sold by MCC Homes, with property support by national property consultancy, Bradley Hall.
The development, located on Hudson Road in Hendon, Sunderland, was constructed by developer MCC Homes, and was sold to Gentoo Homes as part of its large-scale portfolio of affordable homes across Wearside.
Bradley Hall’s Land & Development department, led by Associate Director Callum Armstrong, facilitated the sale of the bungalows on behalf of MCC Homes, and was supported by Bradley Hall Sunderland Director Helen Wall.
Callum Armstrong commented on the deal: “It was a pleasure to act on behalf of our client MCC Homes to bring 16 high-quality new build accessible bungalows to Sunderland.
“MCC Homes and Gentoo have a long-standing history of constructing and managing good quality homes across Wearside, and this development will provide much-needed accommodation for 16 occupiers in the heart of the city.”
The 16 bungalows were built on a site of brownfield land on Hudson Road, a short drive from Sunderland City Centre and have been designed to be 100% affordable for buyers. Each home benefits from a large bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/living area, garden and level access porch entrance, ensuring they are accessible for those with mobility requirements.
Established in 2017, MCC Homes provides quality and affordable housing to first time buyers and social housing to support those with additional needs. They work across Sunderland and have recently completed projects in Hylton Castle, Marley Potts and Hendon.
Paul McCoy, Company Director, commented on the sale of the development to Gentoo Group: “I am pleased to be able to handover our latest development on Hudson Road to the team at Gentoo Group. Accessible and affordable homes make up a large portion of our business model as we look to support our local communities across Sunderland.
“Callum and the team at Bradley Hall made the sale of the project straightforward and with minimal fuss and I look forward to working with them again in the future.”
