We wanted to continue our series by introducing a member of our mortgages team.
Introducing: Gary Dobson, Senior Mortgage & Protection Manager
1. How has your career developed with Bradley Hall?
I would say with flying solo for so long, I have managed my time, clients and how to structure the business in a more streamlined way. As the team has recently expanded, it’s been fantastic to see the dynamic change again and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
2. What does it take to make a good Mortgage Advisor?
Be a people person and a team player, have an appetite for learning, and have great organisation skills.
3. What’s a common myth about being a mortgage advisor?
That we press a button, and the mortgage is issued. Slightly more to it, including research, application process, compliance, suitability documents, chasing solicitors, chasing lenders, arranging valuation etc.
4. Who or where do you draw professional inspiration from?
Friends who run successful businesses have always been an inspiration to me. It’s great to take encouragement from their mindset, attitude, and work ethic that they use to become successful.
5. What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don't worry about the future, live in the moment and it’s never too late to make a change.
