Emma started at Bradley Hall when she was 17 and is currently undertaking her Real Estate Management Degree while working full time at Bradley Hall.
Introducing: Emma Bowater, Trainee Surveyor – Property Management
1. How has your career developed with Bradley Hall?
I started at Bradley Hall straight after finishing my A-Levels which was a whirlwind but was the right decision for me. I am now halfway through the second year of Real Estate Management Degree with UCEM which is a degree programme I am able to undertake around working full time at Bradley Hall. My career has developed at Bradley Hall as I have had a chance to work in a range of departments and offices and am very much looking forward to completing my degree with the company.
2. What does it take to make a good property manager?
You should be organised, resilient, have good problem-solving skills, and be a fast learner.
3. What’s a common myth about property management?
That we just deal with repair issues – we actually undertake a full strategic asset management service including rent reviews, lease renewals, sales/lettings etc.
4. Who or where do you draw professional inspiration from?
I draw professional inspiration from my colleagues. I have gained a mass of knowledge from doing my degree apprenticeship while being in the office surrounded by many other surveyors with years of experience that can keep me on track if I have a question. Being surrounded by advice from the best in the business is something I find invaluable and definitely draw inspiration from.
5. What advice would you give to your younger self?
It will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright – it’s not the end.
