1. How has your career developed with Bradley Hall?
I have transitioned from a surveyor managing small teams to creating a full multi-disciplinary team with support from senior directors to hone in on personal development and helping my team develop around me.
2. What does it take to make a good surveyor?
Commitment, knowledge and crucially enjoyment of the role. Nobody wants to do a job they don’t enjoy.
3. What’s a common myth about valuation?
It is technically difficult and/or boring. This couldn’t be further from the truth, whilst there is a technical element the valuation team look at the widest variety of assets and in varying geographical locations making every day different.
4. Who or where do you draw professional inspiration from?
My father
5. What advice would you give to your younger self?
Spend more time listening. I have learned more from listening to successful senior surveyors both technically and from a personal development perspective then I ever learned from a textbook.
