Bradley Hall is a full-service property firm with more than 30 years’ worth of experience across the North East and Yorkshire. However, we are so much more than that, we spoke to the team to discuss what makes Bradley Hall different for episode five of our new video series.

Q. What makes Bradley Hall different?

A. Matt Hoy, Managing Director – Residential:

“From an employee’s perspective, when working at a firm that is as non-corporate as we are - I came from a big corporate firm seven years ago now, and didn’t realise just how different it was - you realise you can’t fully appreciate how different it is until you arrive and get stuck in. The decision makers being there at the coal face really makes a difference and you feel much more like one big family and one big team then just a number within a massive organisation where you never get a conversation with the people who are making the decisions.”

A. Richard Rafique, Managing Director – Commercial:

“Our staff are second to none. When you look across the individuals in Bradley Hall who are at senior levels, whether they are department heads, directors, directors with equity etc., most of them have come through from junior levels within the business. Neil and Peter both tell stories of when they started as placement students and graduates, and thirty years on they are the majority shareholders in the business.

“We’ve got great staff retention and I think that is off the back off the opportunities that people get within the business. We really encourage career development, and we really want to look after the junior members of the team and those who are mid-level management to come through, and to give them the opportunities to get director positions within the business.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for them but at the same time, that goes hand-in-hand with the growth of Bradley Hall attracting other new starters into the business, and retaining very good members of the team because they do develop a client base which is all about personality.

“Whilst we do offer a very good service, it does come down to personal relationships with clients. I think from our level within the business, we can see that individuals are growing their own client base, building relationships, building their department, and it’s only right that they are rewarded for doing exactly that.” A.
