Bradley Hall, the region’s largest full-service property firm, has supported a leading care provider with the acquisition and exchange of contracts on a former council headquarters in North Yorkshire.
LNT has exchanged contracts on a subject to planning basis on the former Civic Centre building in Northallerton. LNT Care Developments are a residential care home developer and operator, who provide high quality care options across the UK.
Their latest deal was supported by Associate Director Callum Armstrong, who leads Bradley Hall’s Land and Development team from its Head Office in Newcastle.
Callum commented on the project: “It was a pleasure to work with Charlie and the team at LNT Care to exchange contracts on this significant site for their portfolio.
“As their business expands across the UK, they are keen to source sites suitable for the development of their purpose built, residential care homes, and the former Civic Centre will provide an appropriate base for their latest facility.
“Northallerton is a bustling town within a key location in North Yorkshire, and this site will create a number of jobs for the local area.”
The site includes 2 acres of land and 47,000 sq ft of purpose-built office space, which was constructed in 1981 as the headquarters for North Yorkshire County Council, and has been in use until recently.
Spanning three floors and with 140 parking spaces, the site sits within a prime location in the heart of Northallerton, a bustling market town on the River Wiske.
The site benefits from close access to the A1 and A19, with Darlington just 16 miles away. A train station provides access to London, Leeds and further afield.
Charlie Newton, Senior Land Manager at LNT Care Developments, commented on the firm’s recent exchange: “It’s great to have exchanged contracts and submitted detailed planning on the former Civic Centre, we are hopeful of a quick and positive planning decision that will allow us to bring much needed quality care beds to Northallerton and the surrounding areas.
“We are actively seeking sites across Yorkshire and the North East, and with Callum’s support, we were able to exchange contracts on this development opportunity, which will hopefully add to our network of care homes across the North of England.”
