Bradley Hall Yorkshire has once more partnered with YBS Commercial Mortgages (the commercial lending arm of Yorkshire Building Society) and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to host a Business Rates event, providing property support for investors and small business owners from across Yorkshire.
Taking place on 4th November 2026, the event will see Associate Director Paul Dodds deliver a presentation focused on Business Rates valuations and how professional advice can support small businesses.
The event will bring together business owners, professional advisers and industry representatives to discuss key issues affecting small businesses, providing an opportunity to share knowledge, build connections and explore the challenges facing the business community.
Paul Dodds, who is part of Bradley Hall Yorkshire’s Valuation team, will focus his presentation on the importance of business rates valuations and the impact they can have on businesses occupying commercial premises.
Business Rates represent a significant operating cost for many small businesses. Understanding how rateable values are determined, and ensuring that valuations accurately reflect a property’s circumstances, can help business owners make more informed decisions about their premises and ongoing financial commitments.
Paul will provide insight into the Business Rates valuation process, highlighting the importance of specialist advice and how businesses can better understand their obligations. His presentation will also explore the role property professionals can play in supporting small businesses as they navigate the complexities of business rates.
The event follows last year’s successful collaboration between Bradley Hall, YBS Commercial Mortgages and the FSB, which brought together businesses and professional advisers to discuss the economic landscape and commercial property opportunities.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Paul Dodds, Associate Director at Bradley Hall Yorkshire, said: “We are delighted to be supporting YBS Commercial Mortgages and the FSB once again, and to have the opportunity to share our expertise with small businesses.
“Business rates can be a significant cost for businesses operating from commercial premises and understanding how valuations are determined is an important part of managing those costs.
“I look forward to discussing the business rates valuation process and sharing practical advice on how businesses can better understand their position and make informed decisions about their property.”
Barry Dillon, business development manager for YBS Commercial Mortgages, said: “This is the 3rd year we have co-hosted this networking event alongside the Federation of Small Business and its great to have Bradley Hall back for another year to provide a property update to our guests.
“This event is always very well attended and we’re looking forward to another successful gathering in November”
Bradley Hall Yorkshire’s support for the event reflects the firm’s commitment to working with businesses and sharing specialist property knowledge to help them navigate the challenges and opportunities within the commercial property market.
