The North East’s largest full-service property firm, Bradley Hall, has partnered with regional law firm Hay & Kilner to provide landlords with guidance and support ahead of the introduction of the Renters’ Rights Act.
The landmark legislation, which passed into law in October 2025 and comes into effect on 1st May 2026, represents the biggest overhaul of England’s private rental sector in nearly 40 years. It introduces key changes including the abolition of Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions, a move towards periodic tenancies with no fixed end date, and tighter rent controls.
As part of their collaboration, Bradley Hall and Hay & Kilner recently hosted an informative webinar for landlords, providing expert insight into the changes and practical guidance for preparing for the new legislation. In addition, both firms have produced guidance documents for clients to help landlords understand their obligations and adapt their practices with confidence.
