A former bank on Gosforth High Street has been let to a national law firm, thanks to Northern property firm, Bradley Hall.
The old Barclays bank site, on Gosforth’s ever-popular High Street, has been let to a renowned law firm seeking a North East branch.
The lease was agreed by Henry Bowers and William Reavley from Bradley Hall’s Commercial Agency team, based at the firm’s Newcastle headquarters.
The site has been a prominent figure within Gosforth, originally operating as The North East Banking Company which was opened in 1894, following the development of Gosforth from Bulman Village into a wider residential area. The site then became Martin’s Bank in 1928 before being taken over by Barclays in 1969.
Gosforth High Street has seen an increase in demand from local, regional and national businesses in recent years, with multiple new shops, restaurants and leisure facilities opening on the street. The suburb, which borders Jesmond, High Heaton and Kenton, is home to over 23,600 residents.
Henry Bowers, who agreed the lease on behalf of Bradley Hall, said: “I am pleased to have supported our long-standing client to lease the former Barclays bank site to a leading national law firm.
“This was a smooth process for our client and was a great deal to be a part of, as we witness the change and development of Gosforth’s High Street and welcome in new tenants and businesses.
“This is a really prominent location on an incredibly popular street in our region and I wish the new tenants well in their new home.”
The site spans over 3,400 sq ft of space across three floors and includes car parking, as well as access to local transport services.
The lease follows the successful sale of neighbouring property, Katherine’s Florists, late last year to new owners.
Bradley Hall works with a number of landlords, tenants and businesses to provide end-to-end commercial agency services, including property management, planning, development and valuations.
