STACK, SEARCH FOR SUITABLE TRADERS

Created 4th November 2019

With news that Sunderland Seafront will soon become home to the second STACK development in the North East, the developers, Danieli Holdings, are on the lookout for local traders to get involved, and have already received several enquiries of interest.

The STACK Seaburn development will be built from shipping containers that are assembled to make an enclosed village that can operate in all weather conditions and will create a unique space for enhanced lifestyle experiences, with a focus on community wellbeing, socialising, events and a mix of independent street food and casual dining options.

Work will commence shortly on the ground works and the fenced off area is in the process of having hoardings erected. With this in mind, there are a number of opportunities for traders to lease a shipping container unit and bring a unique offering to the Seafront.

Neil Hart, Group Managing Director at Bradley Hall said: “We are delighted to be once again working on an innovative and exciting project with Danieli Holdings. Following the success of STACK Newcastle we are very much looking forward to playing a part in this flagship development for Seaburn’s seafront regeneration.

“The North East is renowned for its outstanding independent and start-up businesses and we’re looking for the very best variety of hospitality and lifestyle services which will provide visitors with a fantastic experience. Levels of interest have already been high, so we would encourage all interested parties to contact us as soon as possible.”

Neill Winch, CEO of Danieli Holdings said: “We’re really keen to hear from local traders who have something special to offer visitors to STACK Seaburn and will keep them coming back for more. Our aim is for STACK to be known for its high quality, bespoke, street food offerings. And, if you have experience in the street food trade or have a concept that you think would get people flocking from all over to try your food, we’d really like you to get in touch. We are especially looking to hear from those that can do a street food twist on the following cuisines; Greek, Lebanese, Turkish, Indian, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese.

“We are also keen to have units filled with businesses that provide a variety of lifestyle services. This could be a hairdresser, dog groomer, cycle hire, tattoo shop etc. We especially want to hear from traders that can offer an experience for customers and take advantage of the seafront location, as this is what the consumer of today is looking for.”

The company’s focus is on developing a community space where people come together through music, sport, games, events and regular pop ups, whilst making the most of the seafront destination with a range of indoor and outdoor activities. This all makes for an ideal opportunity for any local companies looking to operate their business from a reputable landlord who offers exceptionally good value for money for retail and leisure space.

Councillor Graeme Miller, leader of Sunderland City Council, said: “The STACK model is a fantastic way to create a space that is flexible enough to respond to what the people of Sunderland want, and I am delighted that local traders will have the chance to be part of it too.

“We are absolutely committed to delivering developments that our residents tell us they want to see, and we know leisure at the seaside has been on that list for some time. This is a hugely significant step forward for the city and we very much look forward to seeing it come to life with the support of incredible independent businesses, who also will benefit from the vibrant new environment STACK represents.”

Winch concluded: “As landlords, we are investing heavily on this project to make it an interesting and entertaining place to visit, so it’s down to us to ensure that we deliver what the people of Sunderland and surrounding areas want in their container village. “It’s important to us to provide a village community hub that people want to visit, is a great place for people to work and provides a space to create a unique social experience for all-concerned.

“We’re very excited to be a part of the regeneration of Seaburn and we’re passionate about supporting local independent traders, so would encourage anyone with an interest to get in touch.”
