EXPANDING LAW FIRM SET TO MOVE TO NEWCASTLE CITY CENTRE OFFICES

Created 13th December 2017

Newcastle law firm Samuel Phillips is the latest company set to move to offices in the heart of the city centre.

Leading Newcastle law firm Samuel Phillips is the latest company set to move to offices in the heart of the city centre during a period of significant expansion for the company.

The firm of 40 employees and growing will take up occupancy within offices at 18-24 Grey Street, a Grade II listed building which has seen significant investment and refurbishment following a multi million pound purchase.

Samuel Phillips, which currently occupies an office near Newcastle Central Station, is undergoing a period of significant and exciting growth and has planned the move to accommodate more staff, centralise operations and launch a fresh look for the company.

The move is set for early 2018 after the company invested over £85,000 in its IT and technology systems whilst also renewing its Lexcel accreditation, a quality mark for excellence in legal practice management and excellence in client care.

The offices, which were acquired by investment company Stessa Commercial, are being marketed and managed by leading North East property firm Bradley Hall.

Robert Gibson, partner and head of property and commercial law for the firm, said: “This is a significant time of growth for the business as it comes up to its 100th anniversary. We have invested heavily in our technology systems, our staff training and are looking forward to welcoming more members to the team and growing our client base.

“The process of signing up to move to Grey Street in early 2018 has been a pleasure. The team at Bradley Hall and the landlord have been responsive, helpful and nothing short of excellent. The entire team and partnership between us all have made the process incredibly easy and we are now looking forward to the big move.”

The take-up is the latest in a string of successful projects for Bradley Hall. The company was responsible for almost 40% of office lettings in Newcastle city centre, totalling almost 25,000sq ft, during the third quarter of 2017.

The North East Office Agents Forum (NEOAF), the leading source of regional statistical information on the office sector, also recently revealed that the regional office take up for Q3 is the best in three years.

Neil Hart, group managing director at Bradley Hall, said: “This is a fantastic move for Samuel Phillips as it continues to strengthen, expand and continue as an excellent law firm. The updated office space will provide a new and improved environment for the company, further raising its profile in the city centre and providing an impressive space to welcome clients.”

Nicholas Bramwell, surveyor at Bradley Hall, said: “The landlord has created an outstanding space for occupiers and 18-24 Grey Street will now play host to some of the region’s leading businesses. The offices have been snapped up very quickly since coming to market, and there is only one remaining suite available.”

Surrounding occupiers will include several national businesses including Royal Bank of Scotland and NRG Recruitment, alongside a range of popular retail and leisure facilities playing host to many well-known restaurants such as Harry’s Bar, Bar Luga, Las Iguana’s and Browns as well as Grey Street Hotel and The Theatre Royal.

The building’s seven floors are now almost all occupied with only one remaining suite boasting modern fixtures and fittings, an impressive ground floor atrium, a grand direct street entrance offering access to reception, seating areas and two 10 passenger lifts which serve all floors.
